With a little more than a week left to wonder what I have forgotten to do, forgotten to think about doing, and forgotten completely, I find myself posting about other things.

For my house, which has become a regular subject of conversation, I am happy to report that I have electricty, running water, a refrigerator, a real bed, and air conditioning. I even purchased a dresser at a yard sale. A friend from home volunteered his time and pressure washed and painted the exterior of my house over the weekend. Thanks Aaron. This week, I am trusting some UNCW IV alums to pick out the paint for the interior, and my office should begin to take shape in the coming weeks. I have come to realize that NONE of this is exciting for anyone but me. SO unless you ask or something crazy happens thats probably about all that I will say, with this one final caviot, I am considering plans for a huricane shelter/cellar.

Last week, I was thinking about what I would like to be better at. Without going into the details of my inadequicy, I realized through conversations with donors and alumni that we are all of us striving for perfection. As I have grown up I have come to see more ways in which I am woefully less than Christ, and even as we are to be (and are) transformed, we find more ways we are lacking. Thats why I see wisdom in my Grandfather, but he sees less. So to die therefore is gain. How wonderfully morbid.

quote of the post

If you've never stared off into the distance then your life is shame.
